Description

Here is a selection of plastic lighters, combed off the beach at Bigbury Bay, Devon. I understand its a bit different to the average image that finds its way onto GFX, but theres something about it that keeps me looking at it. Enjoy

Welcome to the plastic age !

I agree with the light comment!
Can't believe that someone can leave those lighters in the beach! Coastline is very dear to me! I've worked in a few national coastal plans one of them a special beach plan (POOC Norte) and one of the requirements for a special designation to the beach was having special containers to cigarettes and related that you could pick when you enter the beach and leave again in the entrance when you leave the beach. To avoid this kind of situations!

like the idea and composition, the overall light could be inproved, maby you can do something about in post processing.

ye the light issue is a bit of a pain, but i think the story behind the image is more important. I live very close to the coast and there are areas covered in colour, but plastic colour. Nets, bottles, fishing line, and oil drums cover the sand. Plastic is going to be with us for along time, theres nothing we can do about that for the short term, but i believe we can be more careful about the way we dispose off and recycle the plastic we use. :)

People dont see the light for the lighters.... :p

Sad to see that the UK is no different than the rest. I wonder how many of these kill marine turtles and other creatures when washed to the sea.

Back to the light issue: a little flash would help avoiding the shadows.

Good work.

Definitely! But that's really a good thing. This is very original, keep it up!
